01The same information is entered more than once
If customer, site, crane, operator, service type and price details are copied from an enquiry sheet into a quote, then into a planner, then into transport or invoice records, the problem is no longer the spreadsheet itself. It is the broken flow between stages.
02The planner cannot show whether the job is actually ready
A date and crane allocation do not tell you whether the required people, qualifications, equipment evidence, lift-plan status, transport arrangements and job details are ready. Operational status needs context beyond a calendar cell.
03Knowledge is trapped with individual people
When the answer to a customer or operational question depends on finding the right person, inbox or message thread, the business has a continuity problem as well as an efficiency problem.
04Finance has to reconstruct what operations already knows
If supplier costs, re-hire, transport activity, completion evidence or invoice values have to be rebuilt after the job, commercial close-out is disconnected from the work that created it.
